Viewers slammed a couple last night for turning their home into 'a B&Q store' after they spent £80,000 on renovations including neon orange windows and grey walls.

Amifa and Amin appeared on Channel 4's Ugly House to Lovely House as they sought to transform their 'dark and condemned' home 'on a tight budget'.

The pair initially said they hoped to make small changes to their 1920s property, in a bid to not end up with something 'radically different' to other homes in the street.

However the couple, from Bellingham in south east London, were transfixed after they were presented with a swatch sample for an orange window frame.

Obviously apprehensive about the reaction of fellow residents to the colour, Amifa told host George Clark: 'I'd go orange if I could, looks beautiful to me.
