The Coronation Street film set has been targeted by real thieves, while filming scenes for an explosive new armed robbery plot. 

The unusual incident, which took place at midday on Friday, occurred as the new scenes were filmed on location in Bolton.

In them, Corrie's Steve McDonald looks set to be embroiled in a whole heap of trouble after he unwittingly becomes a getaway driver following an armed robbery.
