The man, whose son is a former Premier League star, has appeared in court charged with attacking two girls under the age of 13 and two under 16. The alleged attacks, which he denies, are said to have taken place in the 1970s and 1980s. The man told the paper the alleged assaults 'never happened' while his footballer son declined to comment when approached. He is charged with four counts of rape, one attempted rape, three indecent assaults, one count of buggery and indecently assaulting the same youngster at least ten times over the same period. Three more of the reported charges relate to claims he sexually abused the same alleged victim when she was an adult. One of the alleged victims claims she was raped 'on at least ten separate occasions' by the man in the late 1970s, when she was under 16.
