Wanzhen Lu, 22, was kidnapped by armed men Saturday near Toronto. He's pictured on the day of his disappearance Canadian police are searching for a Chinese student who was kidnapped by an armed gang in the parking lot of his secure access condo building. The ambush of Wanzhen Lu took place around 6pm Saturday and law enforcement said the 22-year-old was tasered by a masked man several times after exiting his black Land Rover Range Rover at 15 Water Walk Dr, Markham with a woman who escaped unharmed. Security footage obtained by investigators showed the man appeared to be taken against his will by three men who used excessive violence before stuffing him into a black 2008 to 2010 Dodge Caravan with a 'CEAR350' plate stolen from the Peel Region earlier this month. The woman Lu was accompanied by was said to be 'traumatized' by the attack. She was not physically harmed during the 'very violent attack' and notified security in the building, accessed using a fob key, about the incident immediately. 'The attack was very brazen, violent and hands on. They took him, threw him into the vehicle and then left,' Constable Andy Pattenden from York Regional Police told reporters Monday. 'It was a violent altercation and we need to find him right now.' Law enforcement officers said Lu had driven expensive vehicles including a Rolls Royce and a Lamborghini and surveillance footage from the underground parking garage led them to believe Lu was '100 percent taken against his will'. The 15 Water Walk Dr, Markham condo building is accessed using a fob key and cops investigated this weekend while Lu's family traveled to Toronto from China Police would not say how Lu knew the woman or what school he is enrolled at. 'She’s obviously traumatized by what took place, but has been very helpful with us,' Pattenden said. 'Traumatized' woman Lu was with was unharmed and notified building security immediately. He is pictured on the day he disappeared 'This entire case is odd. Abductions like this, especially with this level of violence used are very rare in this country. 'Why him? Why not the friend he was with? If there's anyone who knows Mr. Lu that has not come forward yet with any information on why he may be a target, we'd definitively love to speak to you.' After cops appealed to the public on the same evening, the wheelchair accessible vehicle used to kidnap the foreign student was located in Toronto, approximately 30km away from the city in Ontario, on Monday. However they still haven't located the victim. Now Lu's family is on the way to Toronto from his native China. The local police department was also working with the Chinese Consulate in Toronto. The Associated Press said the embassy 'have been in close contact and communication with the police, urging them to rescue the kidnapped student as soon as possible'. Lu was pictured in the outfit he was wearing the day he was abducted. He wore glasses, a black Gucci hoodie which retails for $2,000, black jeans and white running shoes.
