BBC Woman's Hour has come under fire for asking its listeners whether LGBT rights should be taught to children in schools.

Yesterday's episode of the Radio 4 programme featured an item on the ongoing protests by parents in Birmingham and Greater Manchester.

Some believe their children are too young to be taught about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender relationships, while others feel the issue is not in line with their Islamic beliefs.

The Woman's Hour Twitter account tweeted: 'Do you think LGBT rights should be taught in schools? Jane speaks to a mother and a head teacher'
