A schoolgirl has been charged with assault after four students at her school were slashed with a rusty razor blade.

The four year-eight students, three girls and one boy, were left with cuts to their legs after their female classmate allegedly attacked them at Helensvale State High School, in the Gold Coast, on Tuesday.

The teenage girl reportedly ripped the razor blade from a pencil sharpener.
