Nipsey Hussle murder suspect has 'hit put out on him by the Crips'

Police are racing to find the known gang member wanted in connection with Nipsey Hussle's murder who is now feared to be the subject of a gang hit.

Late on Monday, police named 29-year-old Eric Holder, a known member of the Rollin' 60s gang, as the suspect in Hussle's murder.

Police sources say he and the rapper were known to one another and that it was a gang-related killing but they have not revealed further details or suggested a motive but they say it was 'personal' and had not been ordered by gang leaders.

He is on the run and police on Tuesday urged him to hand himself in to authorities.

He is accused of approaching Hussle in the parking lot outside his store and arguing with him and two other men then walking away and returning with a handgun.

He opened fire, shooting all three of them, then fled in a waiting car that was being driven by an unidentified woman.

The brutal killing was caught on surveillance camera footage.

Now, it is being claimed online that he has been 'green lit' by the Crips, the gang to which he belonged and allegedly 'snitched' on, to be killed.

There is now a race between the LAPD and the gang's members to find him.

Hussle was a hero in southern L.A. where he was trying to legitimize gang members by developing the area and eradicating violence.

He was a former Rollin' 60s member but was eager to work with the LAPD to stamp out gang wars peacefully and maintained strong relationships with the community.

LAPD Chief Michael Moore urged him to turn himself in to the authorities on Tuesday.

'To Mr. Holder, who I am confident is watching this and listening to these media accounts, I ask him to surrender.

'Find a local law enforcement agency, go to a station and surrender. Stop this. Stop this from continuing,' he said.

He added that he posed a 'substantial risk' to the public.

On Monday night, chaos broke out outside Marathon Clothing, the store which he owned and where he was killed, as hundreds of people who had gathered to pay their respects started running from the scene without explanation.

The stampede injured 19 people but it remains unclear what sparked the panic.

The crowds left balloons, candles and cards for the rapper in the exact spot where he was shot multiple times at close range on Sunday.

Police are also hunting a female getaway driver who is said to have sped off with Holder after he allegedly fired the fatal shots.

Two other men who were with Hussle were also shot but they survived with injuries.

Hussle's death has rocked the music and entertainment industry. His long-term girlfriend, actress Lauren London, is yet to comment on his death.

The LAPD commissioner Steve Soboroff said he was 'very sad' about the news when it emerged on Monday.

On Tuesday, he and others gave a heartfelt tribute to the rapper as they pleaded for his killer to hand himself in.

Soboroff fought back tears as he read aloud an email that Hussle sent him on February 26 about working together.
