Schools have been sent into lockdown as police negotiate with a man who allegedly fired shots at a couple before locking himself in his West Auckland apartment.
Glen Eden Primary School on Glenview Road and nearby Talented Tots childcare were placed into lockdown following reports of a shot in the Glen Eden area after 10am.
The Armed Offenders Squad have been fielded in the area and a helicopter deployed as police negotiate with a man who has locked himself in a flat.
