Unemployed Australians living on welfare will now benefit from a government power bill handout - after they were snubbed in Tuesday's budget.
Scott Morrison initially excluded Newstart recipients from the rebate in his budget announcement - but less than 12 hours later he backflipped after fierce criticism.
The power bill rebate - $75 for singles and $125 for couples - was originally only available to aged and disability pensioners, carers, veterans and single parents.
