This is the heart-wrenching moment a paralysed, grieving father breaks down in tears as he thanks the DIY SOS team for making him a wheelchair-accessible home for him and his sons.

Darren, from Hessle, near Hull, had suffered back problems for years but was suddenly rushed to hospital with a devastating spinal cord injury that left him unable to walk.

After a stretch in hospital and three months of rehab he came home, but weeks later his wife Sarah was tragically found dead at home by her three sons.

Heartbroken, former roofer Darren was left to care for his son Harvey, 14, step-son Mike, 24, and severely-disabled adopted son Oliver, 17, on his own.

In desperate need of a wheelchair-accessible home, the DIY SOS team swooped in to save the day, with Darren unable to contain his emotions when the big reveal came.
