A Virginia woman was delighted to find her beloved dog was still alive two days after a fire ravaged her apartment block.

On Saturday, Kayla Blake returned to The Hills Southview Apartments after it was destroyed by flames last Thursday and heard Rebel the pooch barking.

'The K-9 unit told my parents that there was no way that Rebel would have been able to escape, because at the time they assumed the floors had collapsed,' Blake told WHSV about the state of her third floor apartment last week.
