The bodyguard of Sydney nightclub identity John Ibrahim has been charged with drink driving after allegedly crashing into multiple cars.

Semi 'Tongan Sam' Ngata, 61, has been accused of smashing into three parked cars in Merrylands, western Sydney while driving drunk in a silver Jeep 4WD on Tuesday morning. 

Mr Ngata destroyed the car, losing two tyres as he left a trail of destruction before being arrested at a home nearby.
