The deadly power of a firefighter's worst nightmare - the backdraft - has been demonstrated in terrifying slow-motion footage.
The danger occurs when there is the sudden reintroduction of oxygen into an enclosed space containing a fire.
Youtubers The Slow Mo Guys demonstrated it by re-creating a house fire - with a violent jet of smoke and flames the result.
This is the moment that Youtubers the Slow Mo Guys set re-create a house fire inside a shipping container to demonstrate the deadly power of a firefighter's worst nightmare - the backdraft. The container is fitted with a Go Pro camera sitting inside flameproof housing
With the help of Travis County fire department, in Texas, they fill a shipping container fitted with windows and doors with a sofa, wooden panelling and a Christmas tree.
A Go Pro camera is placed in the corner of the container inside a fireproof housing.
Outside and in line with the door are wooden markers topped with marshmallows to measure how far the backdraft reaches.
After a few minutes of allowing a fire to develop, firefighters move to cut off oxygen to the space by closing the windows and the top and then the bottom part of the door.
