The stand-up comedian, 74, said his son Martin Thomas Reilly 'made me laugh and he made me cry' as he thanked the public 'for allowing him his privacy and dignity' as he copes with grief in a post on his official Facebook account. Last month, the father-of-seven was forced to cancel a number of performances at Dundee's Whitehall Theatre and Montrose Town Hall because of a 'tragic family loss', reports Teesside Live. Mr Reilly's funeral was held yesterday. Mr Brown, who was born as Royston Vasey, wrote on Facebook: 'Martin made me laugh and he made me cry. 'He was a lost soul and he has finally found peace.' He was a lost soul and he has finally found peace' The stand-up comedian, 74, paid tribute to his late son on his official Facebook account (pictured) Back in 2009, when Mr Reilly was 35, he was handed a four-year sentence for conspiracy to supply class A drugs. Mr Reilly was among 18 people arrested for being involved in a drugs distribution ring. At the time, Mr Brown told Teesside Live: 'Although Martin is a grown man of 35 and making his own way in life I'm very sad to learn he is in this kind of trouble.' It is believed that Mr Brown was not in regular contact with his son. Mr Brown is known for his blue humour comedy act and for wearing a flying helmet and goggles, a patterned jacket and a bow tie.
