Police have refused to reveal how much they spent protecting Meghan Markle during her trip to New York for a star-studded baby shower.
The Duchess of Sussex flew to New York and back in a £33million private jet with celebrity friend Amal Clooney and partied in a £66,000-a-night penthouse suite at the luxury Mark hotel in February.
Friends paid for the lavish break, with the Clooneys and tennis star Serena Williams reported among those stumping up cash, but questions have been asked over whether the public had to fund any extra security for the pregnant royal.
The Met Police have now refused to say what measures were put in place for the February trip or how much they cost the public purse.
