Police in Connecticut have released dramatic body camera footage showing an officer being dragged by a suspect's car for a mile during a traffic stop-gone-wrong last year.
The incident took place back on February 26, 2018, but the Groton Police Department made the video recording public on Thursday to show the dangers of routine law enforcement work.
Just before 4am that morning, Officer Tyler DeAngleo pulled over 22-year-old Taj Dickerson on Fort Hill Road near Route 117 after spotting him driving with a broken tail light.

DeAngleo, who at that time had been on the force for two years, reportedly smelled marijuana on the driver and instructed him to get out of the vehicle, along with his pet pit bull, which was found in the car.
A search of the vehicle, a 2007 Ford Edge, turned up a quantity of crack cocaine, and police on the scene made the decision to arrest the driver.
