Desperate and frustrated men are taking to the internet in search of advice about chemical castration because they no longer want to live with their sexual urges. In forums on Reddit, Quora and medical websites, the anonymous men share their reasons for wanting to cut off their libido. They include being frustrated after years of rejection, not understanding women and being constantly distracted by their insatiable sexual appetites. In some cases, men in sexless marriages who want to stay with their wives are considering getting rid of the urges to spare themselves the agony of not being touched. Others are young men in their twenties who are convinced they may never get a woman to sleep with them. One described himself on Quora as a 25-year-old who had never had sex and could not go on with the constant reminder of what he was missing out on. A number of men are choosing to chemically castrate through hormone-reducing injections because they are sick of being rejected, are virgins, cannot understand women or are trying to stay in sexless marriages without getting frustrated 'I am 25 years old and I never had a gf or had sex. I am very bad socially so I never got a girl even remotely interested in me. THEIR REASONS 'I am 25 years old and I never had a gf or had sex. I am very bad socially so I never got a girl even remotely interested in me' 'I'm sick of being a virgin, yet horny all the time. I cant go on like this.' 'For every orgasm, there's been three cases of unrequited love' 'My wife of 33 years has just"come out as a lesbian... I am seriously frustrated but want to stay with a partner that I love and respect. 'I just don't get women, am no longer interested in them and my urges have become a hindrance' 'I thought I'd be happier knowing I wouldn't feel any desire for what I was missing. It's like if you missed a Spice Girls concert.' 'If I didn't have sexual desire, I'd never again experience unrequited love, I'd never again lust for another straight man, I would no longer feel the soul crushing disappointment' 'However I am missing love and sex, so I am curios (sic) if a doctor will give me a chemical castration, or is that illegal without a life threathening (sic) condition?' he asked. Another frustrated virgin said: 'I am sick of being a mid 20s virgin. 'Sick of the jokes people make and the pity parties. People tell me I should kill myself, and I'll die alone. I have contemplated suicide, but I have found chemical castration. 'My sex drive is abnormally high, but in this cruel world, I have no means to satisfy it. 'I'm sick of being a virgin , yet horny all the time. I cant go on like this.' Another man, claiming to be a college student, wrote in a forum on Reddit: 'It was always awful seeing a beautiful woman and knowing I would never be able to get with her. 'I'm not saying I deserve anything, and I certainly don't like to objectify them in such a way, but the desires were strong.' Another man, claiming to be 20, said he was sick of longing for straight men who would never sleep with him and not having a high enough success rate with other gay men. 'I suppose I'm happy to have experienced having a sex drive, but the law of diminishing returns took place rather quickly. Being a sexual person for one month would have told me everything I needed to know about sexuality. 'Since then, producing testosterone and having sexual desire has brought me ten units of pain for every one unit of pleasure. These are just some of the reasons men have posted online for why they are choosing to self-castrate with chemicals 'For every orgasm, there's been three cases of unrequited love. 'For every positive interaction with another man (I'm gay), there's been twenty awkward encounters with straight men over whom I've despaired for not ever being able to have sex with. 'I'm 20, 21 in less than a month, and have still never had sex and there's no end in sight to my virgindom,' he said. That man said he'd hoped he would have his sexuality satisfied when he went to college but that it never happened. WHAT IS CHEMICAL CASTRATION Chemical castration is a form of hormone therapy which reduces the amount of testosterone in the male body to reduce sexual urges. There are a number of drugs which can be used to achieve it but the most common is Leuprolide. Known most commonly by its brand name, Lupron, Leuprolide is often prescribed to prostate cancer patients because it tricks the mind into producing less testosterone. Prostate cancer feeds on testosterone in order to spread. Some doctors have likened the effects of Leuprolide to 'turning down the sexual volume in the mind'. Others have used the commonly-used birth control drug, Depo Provera, to achieve the same effect. It contains the drug depot medroxyprogesterone acetate. All of the drugs have to be prescribed. It is given to some sex offenders to reduce their urges and make them less likely to offend, but more people are seeking it out themselves for no other reason than to shrink their libido. 'I soon learned that my sexual marketplace value in the gay world as a fat, introverted black man with a small penis is close to 0 (more accurately, my value is than 0, e.g. most people would think the world would be a better place if I didn't exist),' he said. Older men have different reasons, including a 39-year-old who describes himself as being 'very attractive' but fed up of trying to understand women. 'I had romantic relationships in my 20's but found that I was less and less interested as I got older and understood how attraction works for women. 'I don't dislike women, I've simply realized that attracting them requires me to become someone I am not. Quite honestly, I value myself too much to resort to the means required to fulfill regular heterosexual male sexual urges,' he siad. The man said he has considered becoming homosexual but was never aroused by men. Other motives include men who have constant erections. One case was described in a medical article in the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health. A 23-year-old man who'd been having constant erections and had to go to the emergency room to have them brought down sought out chemical castration as a means to control them. One man told of his sadness that his wife had recently told him she was more attracted to women than men but that she was asexual. 'I am seriously considering this. I live in Switzerland, and I have no idea what GPs here think or know about this. 'My wife of 33 years has just "come out" to herself and myself as a lesbian; so understandably, our low-sex marriage is now a no-sex marriage. 'And I am not happy with that, am seriously frustrated. But want to stay with a partner that I love and respect. She seems to be asexual; she has no desire to look for a lesbian partner. 'She is mourning the love that she's never had, the experience that she never dared to look for. 'And I'm looking at chemical castration as a way of making a no-sex marriage work.' Ordinarily, chemical castration is only prescribed to sexual offenders to quell their urges towards children or adult victims. It works either by injections or through medication which limit testosterone levels. All rights reserved for this news site dailymail and under his responsibility
