A Florida police department were forced to rename their newest four-legged recruit on Friday morning, having accidentally originally named the K-9 after a famous Nazi general.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office proudly announced the debut of their new 10-week-old bloodhound puppy, called Rommel, on Friday, ahead of his journey in assisting officer’s in their search for missing persons and fugitives.
‘Meet LCSO's newest Bloodhound, Rommel,’ the department tweeted.
‘He is a 10 week old liver colored bloodhound now assigned to Master Deputy Meintzschel. Rommel will soon begin his rigorous training to support the community by locating missing persons, fugitives, and evidence. Welcome aboard Rommel!’
