Multiple 911 callers reported possible shots fired inside the school on W 27th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood shortly after 6pm on Friday, police radio traffic indicated. By 6.40pm, the suspect had been taken into custody and the lockdown was lifted. There were no immediate reports of injuries. Police confirmed that there was no active threat in regards to the incident after taking the person into custody. An armed man in a trench coat was reported inside a Fashion Institute of Technology Building in Manhattan on Friday evening The suspect was located in the Barnes and Noble on campus and taken into custody, radio traffic indicated. The suspect was described as a white male, five-foot-ten, 130 pounds, wearing a navy blue trench coat. Citizens are urged to remain away from the area near 227 W 27th Street as police respond.
