An outbreak of African swine fever in China could send the price of pork and bacon soaring in the U.S. over the coming months.
The price of lean hog has rocketed by more than 25 percent in the past four weeks, as swine fever continues to ravage China's hog herd.
China could see significant shortages of its staple meat because of the crisis - further driving up global prices of protein, experts said.
