Sick joke: Bo Cosens, 29 (left), and his girlfriend, 25-year-old Rachel Sharrock (right), have been charged with giving striking workers cookies contaminated with laxatives Police say the pair crushed up laxatives and mixed the powder into the batter to bake this batch of cookies to give to striking school workers in Ohio Cosens and Sharrock were allegedly upset that drivers passing by the striking workers were disrupting their sleep patterns by honking in a show of support In one recording, the Cosens and Sharrock reportedly discussed their plot to bake sugar cookies laced with laxatives and offer them to the picketing union members in retaliation for the honking. The video also reportedly showed Sharrock holding up a package of laxatives, crushing them up and mixing them into the batter. Another video showed the couple talk about the delivering the contaminated cookies. Investigators said the workers on the picket line thought the baked goods were Cosens and Sharrock’s way of showing their support for their cause, but luckily, no one tried the tainted treats. Some of the workers said they were shocked when they learned of the stomach-turning secret ingredient. ‘We are a very close community and it`s sad to me that somebody would be that angry about something like this, that they try to hurt somebody,’ striking school secretary Shannon Tarbert told WQAD. ‘And one of our kids could have eaten those cookies and that`s what`s scary.’ Cosens and Sharrock were arrested after police got an anonymous tip from someone who watched one of the couple's videos threatening to harm the striking workers. Both the boyfriend and girlfriend have been charged with contaminating a substance for human consumption. Cosens is facing an additional charge of aggravated menacing for allegedly threatening to shoot the protesters. The pair are being held in the county jail on $1million bond each.
