Cliffs overlooking the North Sea were glowing in the sunlight as daffodils bloomed just like William Wordsworth's poem as Britain is set for a bright but chilly weekend.

The country will enjoy a dry weekend with spells of brilliant sunshine as signs of Spring, such as the vast yellow daffodils clifftops in Montrose, Angus, begin to show.

A frosty Friday evening and a cold snap overnight will make way for sun by late Saturday morning just in time for Brits to enjoy their Easter holiday plans, with temperature highs of up to 13C.

And some parts of the UK may even see April showers with patches of rain that could even turn into hail.

Sunday may be on the windy side, with sharp breezes from Scandinavia bringing temperatures to around 11C, which may feel colder due to the wind.

But the cold weather will likely not last as next week is set for sunshine and warm weather after the cold
