Michael Riley and Jason Millar abused the boy when he was just 13 and the victim's mother told Liverpool Crown Court the teenager was left 'a broken child'. The paedophiles blackmailed him by claiming they had pictures of them snorting cocaine off his body to silence him. They also threatened to tell his mother he'd been taking the Class A drug and been drinking, saying it would land him back in care. Riley, 31, from Dundee was jailed for 10 years and nine months and Millar, 44, also from Dundee, received a total of nine years. Riley, who is currently serving 22 months for child porn offences, had admitted three offences of causing a child to engage in sexual activity. Millar admitted two of the charges. They had originally been accused of raping the boy but those charges were dropped. Martine Snowdon, prosecuting, said that Riley, formerly of Walton, befriended the vulnerable child and his unsuspecting mother thought he and his partner were providing him with support and guidance. Jason Millar (pictured) admitted two offences of causing a child to engage in sexual activity But unknown to her they were plying him with cocaine and alcohol and sexually abused him between August 2016 and July 2017. When suspicions arose she stopped him going round to see them and details of his abuse emerged. Police found that Riley had photographs of the boy on his mobile phone including him naked in the shower, said Miss Snowdon. In her impact statement his mother told of feeling guilty and angry, but when sentencing Judge Anil Murray told her she was not guilty, the defendants were. He ordered them to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life and imposed Sexual Harm Prevention Orders and restraining orders on them for 15 years. In April last year the two defendants were cleared of trying to kill their ‘cocaine dealer’ in a knife and hammer attack over a £200 debt after a trial at the same court.
