A 'kind and caring' nurse who failed to notice when NHS bosses paid her two salaries for three years has been found not guilty of fraud.
Laura Hicks, 36, from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, was accused of pocketing more than £19,000 while working for the Withybush General Hospital's rehabilitation day unit.
Yet the mother-of-two was going through a divorce at the time and didn't notice the extra money going into the bank account she shared with her estranged husband, Swansea Crown Court heard.
She also had a ‘lot on her plate’ looking after the couple's two young daughters and being the sole carer for her aunt who has cerebral palsy.
