Madden made it to this year's Time 100 list, alongside the likes of US president Donald Trump and singer-songwriter Taylor Swift - who appears on one of the six covers. The British actor thrilled viewers in his role as the home secretary's police protection officer in Jed Mercurio's TV drama and has since been tipped as the next James Bond. Richard Madden (left, in LA on April 7) was among those on the Time 100 list, alongside Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke (right, in New York on April 4) Two of the other covers went to entertainers, with Sandra Oh, known her roles in Grey's Anatomy and Killing Eve, leading the pioneers, and Dwayne Johnson as the cover for artists. A British star has not graced a cover for the Time 100 since 2017, when Rogue One actor Riz Ahmed made the cut for the pioneers category. Northern Irish director Sir Kenneth Branagh, who worked with Madden on blockbuster Cinderella and play Romeo & Juliet, told Time: 'Richard can certainly unleash wildness and ruthlessness when the role requires a charisma of danger. 'In Bodyguard, Richard's intelligence and physicality worked at perfect pitch alongside his rigorous self-discipline. It paid off to frightening and moving effect.' Killing Eve's Sandra Oh (in LA on April 1) was also featured with singer Ariana Grande (seen on December 6) Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke was featured in the artists category, with Dame Emma Thompson calling her a 'powerhouse to watch and an ally to die for', alongside pop star Ariana Grande and painter David Hockney. Mo Salah's profile was written by comedian John Oliver, who called him 'one of the best footballers in the world'. David Hockney - of the Time's 100 most influential people - at an LA gallery on February 8 Oliver, who presents HBO's Last Week Tonight With John Oliver in the US, wrote: 'You'd be hard-pressed to find a professional athlete in any sport less affected by their success or status than Mo, which is incredible because I can't imagine the kind of pressure that comes with the intensity of adoration he receives.' The Liverpool forward's stock has risen considerably since moving from Roma in 2017. Salah scored 44 goals in his first season for Liverpool and won the Premier League golden boot. The 26-year-old has not quite hit the extraordinary heights of last campaign but is still the league's joint top scorer with Sergio Aguero. South Korean group BTS were also named in the line-up, after previously making Time's Most Influential People on the Internet in 2017 and 2018. The seven-person band, who have become a global phenomenon, won the Time 100 reader poll for the second year in a row - earning about 6% of the vote. Beyonce made a heartfelt tribute to 'icon' Michelle Obama. Lady Gaga also made the 2019 list alongside US President Donald Trump.
