Several Hollywood stars have taken to social media to accuse Attorney General Bill Barr of a cover-up following the full release of special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

The heavily redacted report into Donald Trump and Russian election interference was finally published on Thursday and revealed that Congress could find Trump guilty of obstructing justice – an hour after the attorney general said he had cleared the president personally of the crime.

Crucially, the report itself did not clear Trump, prompting Hollywood's elite to take to social media and blast the president and attorney general, lending their support to Democrat claims of a cover-up.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller did not accuse President Trump of crimes, however, he did paint an unflattering portrait of a foul-mouthed executive who believed the Russia probe would lead to his demise

Actor John Cusack wrote: 'Barr = complete whitewash cover-up. A press circus orchestrated by the White House.'

Director Rob Reiner declared: 'Prima Facie: Trump is guilty as hell.'

Mia Farrow said: 'Just stunning to see the Attorney General in the role of Trump's personal attorney.'

And she was supported by Josh Gad who tweeted: 'I never knew before today that the Attorney General is a personal defense attorney for the President of the United States. Cool beans.'

Meanwhile, Jamie Lee Curtis quoted directly from the report: 'If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, we are unable to reach that judgment.'

And Sophia Bush questioned why the report was so heavily redacted, sharing a photo of pages that were blacked out and writing: 'Glad the report helps us get to the bottom of things.'

Another line from the report that drew the attention of Hollywood celebs was Trump's reaction to Mueller being appointed special counsel.
