A pensioner is fighting for his life after being shot with a crossbow while trying to fix a satellite dish on his rural home just after midnight on Friday morning.

Police are hunting for an attacker who they believe shot the 74-year-old man outside his isolated bungalow on the outskirts of Holyhead on Anglesey, North Wales.

The victim suffered 'horrendous life-changing injuries' from the bolt but was able to stagger into his house and phone for an ambulance after trying to fix the dish on his home.

Police were called at 2.45am after doctors at Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital in Bangor discovered the projectile.
