Pedestrian is killed after car smashes into several vehicles in Mansfield as police arrest a 38-year-old Detectives are investigating two incidents in the Mansfield area this morning  A 38-year-old man has been arrested in relation to death of a male pedestrian   Air ambulance swooped on Mansfield Woodhouse but crew could not save him

A man has died after a vehicle smashed into several cars and pedestrian within hours of another driver ploughing into a nearby home.  

A small patch in Nottinghamshire was rocked by two road accidents this morning which led to the death of a pedestrian and the arrest of a 38-year-old man.

Detectives are now investigating the crashes which happened in the neighbouring Mansfield and Ashfield areas of the county.

An air ambulance swooped down on to a patch of grass near the Melbourne Street, Mansfield Woodhouse, crash site to try to save the man, but he was pronounced dead a short time later
