Meredith Vieira returns to Today to fill in for Hoda Kotb

Meredith Vieira hasn't been a regular host on Today for eight years, but every time she returns it feels like a breath of fresh air.

The beloved TV personality was back at her old stomping grounds on Friday to fill in for Hoda Kotb, who is at home with her new baby.

And Vieira surely had NBC executives knocking on her door as she hilariously breezed through the fourth of of Today with co-host Jenna Bush Hager, joking about everything from menopause to strange flavors of Peeps.

The pair were discussing sharing information about their children's lives - whether on live television or on social media - and when it was the appropriate time to stop.

Vieira shared one story in which her seven-year-old daughter had found out she said something about her while hosting The View.

'It taught me a lesson not to share,' she added.

Vieira then suggested that the right time to stop the social media posts was when children 'start getting interested in the opposite sex or the same sex, whatever it is.'

'When they're going through the change,' Hager confidently added.
