AFL player Paddy Ryder has been targeted by racist who shared pictures of bananas under a Facebook image of the Port Adelaide player celebrating a goal.

The image of the Indigenous player which was posted by Fox Footy, received backlash just hours after the team won against West Coast in Perth on Friday. 

AFL Players' Association boss Paul Marsh shared the image on twitter and criticised the .  

'Proud moment: the way Paddy Ryder played in Port's huge win. Not a proud moment: who continue to vilify our Indigenous players. You're both a disgrace and have been reported,' he wrote.
