Boy, six, is injured after a gang of men open fire on his house with a shotgun

The father of a six-year-old boy who was hospitalised when armed thugs opened fire on their family home with a shotgun has revealed how his son was injured.

Abdurahaman Tukaalesharif, 48, said his son had been playing outside their home in Ashbourne Road, Wolverhampton, with his 14-year-old brother and friends before they saw four men chasing another man with a shotgun.

The six-year-old ran back into his home and suffered wounds to his back and hand after the group blasted him through the door, the father-of-six said.

Mr Tukaalesharif said: 'My youngest son who is six was outside the front door playing with his friend.

'His older brother who is 14 years old was there too and he spotted four men who looked mixed-race and one of them had a balaclava - they looked young.

'They were chasing some other man down the road with a shotgun.

'He told his younger brother to get into the house as he knew something wasn't right.

'They saw my boys get into the house and then fired a shot at them and the bullets went through the door and got my youngest son.

'He got shot in the arm and in the back, I think he turned around to run and that's how he got injured.

'My son is in the hospital today waiting for an operation to remove the bullets from his hand, arm and back and one of his fingers are broke.

'I think they mistook my sons for someone else.

'My boys have never seen a gun before, they were so scared.
