An American investment banker was charged with manslaughter while on vacation in Anguilla.

The Royal Anguilla Police Force arrested Gavin Scott Hapgood, 44, in connection with the death of local man Kenny Mitchel, 27, on April 13, according to a post on Facebook.

Police originally reported that Hapgood, who works at UBS, was denied bail by the Magistrate court and was to make an appearance on August 22.

However, The Anguillian, a local paper, later reported that a judge granted his application for $200,000 Eastern Caribbean dollars ($74,000 USD) in bail - and he is believed to be back in the US.
