Rep. Duncan Hunter claims to be to jump 'Mexico border' - just jumps Arizona ...

Republican Representative Duncan Hunter posted a video on Thursday of himself hopping over the 'grand border wall in Yuma, Arizona' - only he wasn't actually at the Mexican border.

The Arizona congressman took to his social media pages on late Thursday to share that he was on a 'late night ride-along' with border patrol agents in Yuma.

'About 15 meters that way is Mexico,' the embattled Hunter states in the video. 'This is the Colorado river. We are standing where hundreds of illegal aliens everyday come into Yuma, Arizona.'

Hunter then walks to a barrier and insinuates that he is at the border.

He continues: 'So here is the grand border wall in Yuma, Arizona. This is what we expect people, transnational terrorist, families, all those illegal aliens that are coming across the border. This is it.'

'It looks pretty tough to cross, let me see if I can do it.'

He manages to hop over the fence and a look of elation seems to waft over his face.

'Hey, here we go,' he exclaims. 'That's how easy it is to cross the border at Yuma, Arizona.'

The footage jumps to the congressman on the 'Mexico' side about to cross 'back' Stateside.

'This is the border fence and this is the grand border fence, he asserts. 'So you won't see it on fake news media. This is why we need a wall. This is why Trump is right. This is what we need to get rid of and expand upon to secure this country.'

The video quickly became viral but not for the reason Hunter intended.

Soon after the video was posted, Times of San Diego received an email from Ammar Campa-Najjar on Thursday sharing the video and stating that Hunter violated his parole.

Back in Novermber, Hunter beat first-time Democratic candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar for a six term in a deeply red San Diego-area district that President Donald Trump won by double digits in 2016.
