The nine-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the crash. The boy, seven, remains in a serious condition after the crash at midday today. A nine-year-old girl has died and a seven-year-old boy remains in a critical condition after a crash on the R358 in County Galway today Gardaí said the children were cycling between Ballinasloe and Ahascragh when there was a collision between them and a car. The incident happened on the R358 at about noon. Both children were taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe. The road remains closed while Gardai carry out investigations of the scene and it is expected it will stay closed for several hours. Officers have appealed for anyone with any information about the accident to contact Ballinasloe garda station on 0909-631890.
