This is the moment a young man is set upon by a group of bouncers after he jumped into a river near their pub.
Video footage captured outside The Boat Club in Durham yesterday shows the man dive into the River Wear in just a pair of shorts.
After cheers from bystanders he clambers out of the water where he is met by a bouncer walking quickly towards him.
The pair engage in a brief confrontation before the young man steps towards him and the bouncer starts trying to punch him over and over.
The security guard is then joined by two other colleagues who also start to swing at the swimmer and knock him to the ground.
A brawl ensues as people rush from the pub garden to intervene in the fight.
