The image, with the Arabic word for 'peace' written underneath, will be painted as a symbol of unity on a 25-metre high silo in the Melbourne suburb of Brunswick. In just over a day, more than $11,000 has been crowdfunded for the mural, which will be created by mural artist Loretta Lizzio - who has painted walls all over the world. An artist's impression of the iconic image, which will be painted as a symbol of unity on a 25-metre high silo in the Melbourne suburb of Brunswick Mural organiser Tamara Veltre said the image of the Kiwi leader wearing a hijab and embracing a Muslim woman has 'become a beacon of tolerance, love and peace in these divisive times', Newshub reported. Ms Veltre said donations will go towards paying for a cherry picker to reach the tall silo, but any remaining money will be sent to the Christchurch Shooting Victims' Fund. The silo owner has given permission for the artwork to go ahead. The original photo was taken at the Kilbirnie Mosque last month, when New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern wore a head scarf and embraced a Muslim woman just two days after the Christchurch mosque massacre Paint and electrical equipment have been promised by paint company Taubmans, and BREC Electrical. Ms Lizzio is a seasoned muralist, and has painted her large-scale artworks all over the world, from Melbourne to London and Canada. 'Lizzio is a visionary artist, a woman of strength and creative ambition,' Ms Veltre said.
