Singer Neneh Cherry has been awarded thousands of pounds in taxpayer-funded arts grants to further her career, more than 30 years after her breakthrough hit.
The 55-year-old, known for her 1988 track Buffalo Stance, has won a slice of a £220,000 pot under the Music Export Growth Scheme.
The scheme is aimed at artists who have 'achieved reasonable levels of impact in the UK and are now looking to break internationally'.
Swedish-born artist Cherry, who has sold millions of records, is one of 12 recipients
