Teenager, 18, who stabbed her new boyfriend through the heart in a 'fit of anger' after rowing about his driving is found GUILTY of murder despite trying to claim she 'forgot' she had a knife in her hand By Richard Spillett, Crime Correspondent For Mailonline Published: 15:08 BST, 25 April 2019 | Updated: 15:09 BST, 25 April 2019 Viewcomments Martyna Ogonowska faces a life sentence for stabbing her new boyfriend in the heart A teenager who stabbed her new boyfriend in the heart just three days into their relationship three days faces a life sentence for his murder. Martyna Ogonowska, 18, attacked Filip Jaskiewicz after a row over his driving as they returned from a night out in Peterborough in October last year. She was today convicted of murder today after a court heard she sent a message to her mother shortly after the attack, saying 'the whole knife went into his heart mum, what should I do?'. Cambridge Crown Court heard Mr Jaskiewicz, Ogonowska and friends had been to a club before he drove the group home around 5am. There was a row about the speed of the car and Mr Jaskiewicz pulled over before Ogonowska unleashed her attack. Mr Jaskiewicz put his hand on her leg before she stabbed him in 'a fit of anger', then ran off, the court heard. She later took a taxi to a local police station and handed herself in. Her arrest picture shows the teenager looking teary. A court heard Ogonowska and Mr Jaskiewicz argued about his driving before the attack Mr Jaskiewicz was found dead by a member of the public around the time his killer arrived at the police station. Ogonowska and Mr Jaskiewicz, who are both Polish by birth, had met through mutual friends and a relationship had begun just days before the attack. Mr Jaskiewicz had come to England a year before and settled in Peterborough where he worked as a van driver. In police interview, she claimed it had been an accident and had punched him in self-defence but forgotten about the knife she was holding. Speaking after her conviction today, DCI Adam Gallop said: 'This is a tragic case which once again shows the potentially lethal consequences of carrying a knife. Ogonowska had taken the kitchen knife out with her and then into the car where it was eventually used. 'Once she had stabbed Filip she ran and made no attempt to alert emergency services, so leaving him to die. 'Filip's family are devastated by his death but I hope the fact that justice has today been done may help them in some way to live with their loss and grief.'
