President Donald Trump will attempt to reset his relationship this week with Democratic leaders following months of fiery disputes over illegal immigration. 

Trump will host House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer at the White House on Tuesday for a conversation on infrastructure. The conversation about the bipartisan priority will take place at Pelosi's request.   

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders declined to preview the meeting on Monday morning yet said it's a 'big step' in the right direction that the leaders are sitting down with one another. Trump stormed out of a January meeting after they refused to kowtow to his immigration demands. 

A letter outlining Democratic funding priorities that Pelosi and Schumer sent Trump in advance of the meeting suggested that trouble could be brewing once more. 

'To truly be a gamechanger for the American people, we should go beyond transportation and into broadband, water, energy, schools, housing and other initiatives,' they said. 'We must also invest in resiliency and risk mitigation of our current infrastructure to deal with climate change.'
