A French man has allegedly filmed a woman while she was in a toilet cubicle at an inner-city Sydney bar.

The woman noticed a mobile phone that seemed to be recording her under the dividing wall between cubicles in the women's toilets at a bar on Oxford Street in Darlinghurst at 1am on Saturday.

She called out and banged on the wall before looking over to find a man holding a mobile phone.
