BBC and CNN were taken off air by the Venezuelan government moments after images of the National Guard running over protesters were broadcast.
Both networks were showing live feeds of clashes between anti-government demonstrators and troops loyal to President Nicolas Maduro.
But as pictures of armoured vehicles ploughing into a crowd of protesters was shown to viewers the screens suddenly went black and an error message was displayed.
Images of government-backed armoured trucks ploughing into crowds of protesters were cut off by the
