Plans to redevelop the 2002 Sari club bombing site in Bali will not go ahead.

Owner of the site, Sukamto Tjia, previously proposed a five-storey restaurant complex with a possible memorial or museum on the top floor.

But on Wednesday it was revealed the project had been shelved indefinitely and the site may instead be reserved for a memorial 'Peace Park'.

The decision to halt the commercial development came after Prime Minister Scott Morrison met with members of the Bali Peace Park Association in Perth, ABC News reported.
