A cyclist has been spotted wearing a fireplace around his neck pedalling through late-night traffic.

The bizarre moment was captured by April Fillingham, 28, on Sunday evening who stopped her car to take a few photos of the hilarious sight in Leigh, Greater Manchester.

Her image shows a male cyclist riding down the road with what appears to be a heavy fireplace resting over his shoulders. 

The cyclist's head can be seen popped out of the front as he rides through the middle of a carriageway.
