The golden throne, proactively named America, will be installed at the Oxfordshire country house as part of an upcoming art exhibition by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan later this year. It will also be a working fixture that the public will be able to use, if attendees can handle the enhanced security that will monitor the artwork. Blenheim Palace is set welcome a brand new addition - an 18-karat gold toilet proactively named America Founder of the Blenheim Art Foundation, Edward Spencer-Churchill said he's also 'looking forward' to using it himself. 'Despite being born with a silver spoon in my mouth I have never had a s*** on a golden toilet, so I look forward to it,' he told The Guardian. 'It will be an installed, working, usable toilet,' he added. The toilet, worth $2.5 million, will be fitted in a room not too far from where Sir Winston Churchill was born. During the sculpture's 2016 tenure at The Guggenheim in New York people were given five minutes to use the sculpture which was cleaned every 20 minutes, Hyperallergic reported.
