Sinclair Broadcasting Group has reached a $10.6billion deal to purchase all 21 remaining Fox regional sports networks from Walt Disney Co.
Sinclair announced on Friday that it would pay $9.6billion for Disney's majority equity interests in the sports networks, reflecting a total enterprise valuation of $10.6billion.
It comes a year after the U.S. Department of Justice ordered Disney to sell off the stable of channels as a condition of granting provisional approval to Disney’s $71.3billion purchase of 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets.
The sports channels originally numbered 22 and were valued by analysts at around $20billion - until the New York Yankees
