The father of a man murdered in Mexico six months ago discovered a new lead in the case after checking his son's bank account.

The body of 27-year-old Taylor Kristopher Meyer was found on November 9 at the Lázaro Cárdenas park in Playa del Carmen.

Meyer, from Hermosa Beach, Los Angeles, had arrived at the popular beach vacation spot with a group of friends who were celebrating a thirtieth birthday.

His wallet, shoes and iPhone were stolen, and his body left in a park a block from the beach.

Taylor's father Kris Meyer feared the investigation into his murder was going nowhere until he was closing Taylor' bank account and noticed two transactions were made a month after his death.

Detectives recently https://twitter.com/OKCPD/status/1124322134380220416 security photos of a man and a woman at a drive-through ATM in Oklahoma City who tried to use Taylor  credit card on December 7.

It is unclear how the two might be connected to his murder and police are appealing for information on their identity.

Oklahoma City Police released CCTV footage of this man using Taylor's credit card on December 7,  and a woman was travelling in the passenger seat of the silver SUV he drove

Kris Meyer told NBC4 that he hopes someone will come forward, adding that he found images of the pair and CCTV footage of them using Taylor's card 'chilling.'  The footage has been shared by KTLA5 after the police appeal was issued on Thursday.

He said: 'Seeing the person that could potentially either he could have been involved in the murder or has connections to the people who were involved in the murder, it gave me a very eerie feeling.

'I don't wish this on anyone, it's absolutely horrific,' Meyer added.

He believes that Taylor was killed shortly after he withdrew money from an ATM in Playa Del Carmen.

It was only when Meyers was closing out his son's bank account in Los Angeles that he noticed something suspicious.

'It also showed two other transactions on December 7, from banks in Oklahoma City. The bad guys may have forced him to give up his pin number.'

'I think it was a cruel thing obviously, I would like justice, but i really don't want anyone else murdered in mexico,'  Kris said.

Kris said that he forgives his son's killer, or killers, but does want them to be brought to justice.

The pair in the footage were driving a silver SUV and police are hoping they can provide to shed light at what happened to Taylor Meyer.
