Meghan and Harry ‘looking for second home in California’ away from the spotlight

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are looking for a second home across the pond, a source claims.

It is believed the royal couple are hoping to move closer to the Duchess of Sussex's mother, Doria Ragland, who she is very close to.

'Meghan definitely wants a place in Los Angeles — she loves the city, the lifestyle and climate,' a source told The Sun. 'Ultimately, she is a California girl and can breathe easier there.'

The royal couple, who are expecting their first child any day now, only recently moved into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, after a £3 million renovation.

Reports suggest they would like to spend more time in Meghan's home town, which would allow them to stay close to her mother Doria. Pictured, the Duchess of Sussex arrives with her mother Doria Ragland at Cliveden House hotel in the village of Taplow near Windsor on May 18, 2018

But reports suggest the couple are keen to have a second home in California, where her mother Doria lives, and are considering browsing houses in Los Angeles.

Meghan grew up in the city before she moved to Toronto to pursue her acting career and film Suits - where she then lived for six years. It is while living in the Canadian city that she met Prince Harry.

According to sources, another perk of having a place in Los Angeles would be having more freedom and control.

'Spending time there would also allow her some freedom and independence from both the Palace and the Press — and more control over her life and the people around her,' the publication reported. 'She is a duchess in the UK, but could be a queen in LA.'

The source suggests Meghan would like a 'less restrictive environment' for her child - something which a move to Hollywood would provide.
