Swarm of BEES delays the start of a Reds-Giants game for 18 minutes as stadium workers scramble to root out the infestation Monday's Reds-Giants game was supposed to start at 12:35, but was delayed 18 minutes as a swarm of bees descended on Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati Fans were asked to clear out of the lower level seats behind home plate so that stadium workers could find the source of the infestation Cincinnati's NBC affiliate caught footage of bees bearding in the stands along the third-base line.  Two local beekeepers were brought in to help  At one point Reds second baseman Derek Dietrich tossed on a 'pest control' jump suit and grabbed some insecticide to fumigate around the infield  The delay was similar to the a 2007 American League Divisional Series game when thousands of midges hatched and descended on Cleveland's Jacobs Field
