Sophie Ellis-Bextor has joked that she knows the name of Harry and Meghan's baby boy.

Their son's name is yet to be revealed after the seventh in line to the throne was born yesterday at 5.26am.

As the nation awaits its first sighting of the infant, the singer - who is friends with Meghan - was asked if she already knew his name.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, she told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid that she knows the name but won't reveal it.

It came after Susanna told her: 'She adores your music, she adores you. She's said that you're very close friends - do you know the name of the baby?'

'Obviously, but she's sworn me to secrecy,' Sophie replied, before adding: 'I'm a big disappointment if you're looking for more.'

The mother-of-five was on the show to discuss her new orchestral album The Song Diaries.

But the presenters pressed her for any parenting advice she had to offer Harry and Meghan.

She declined to offer any, saying she'd wait until her children had reached adulthood before telling anyone how to raise their children.

Before Meghan became the Duchess of Sussex, she was pictured with the singer on the red carpet of Soho House's opening party in Istanbul.

The then-Suits actress was only known to the show's fans and in a 2015 photo that emerged last year was captioned simply as Ellis-Bextor's 'guest'.
