A 16-year-old boy was shot in the head and is in critical condition, and a man in his 30s was stabbed to death, in another night of armed violence on the streets of England.

In Wolverhampton the teenager is in critical condition after being shot and two teenagers aged 15 and 17 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, West Midlands Police said.

In Colchester, Essex, at around 1am a man in his 30s died of stab wounds in the arms of paramedics, and police are searching for another man believed to have been injured in the incident.
